Born to Cuban parents in Miami on 5 March 1974 and raised by her mother after her parents divorced, Catholic Eva once considered becoming a nun. She left college to purse an ambition to act. After a string of parts in B-movies such as Children Of The Corn V: Fields Of Terror, Urban Legends: Final Cut and Exit Wounds, Eva's big break came in 2001 when she cast opposite Denzel Washington in the crime thriller Training Day. She has appeared in countless big budget movies since, such as 2 Fast 2 Furious, Ghost Rider, We Own The Night, Once Upon A Time In Mexico, Stuck On You, Hitch, Fast Five and The Other Guys. She has also been a regular focus for the media through her marriage to La La Land star Ryan Gosling. The couple have two daughters. Eva has appeared in several music videos with the likes of the Pet Shop Boys, Aerosmith, Will Smith and The Strokes. She has also sung with CeeLo Green. A big favourite with lad's mags, she has regularly appeared in top ten most desirable women lists for AskMen and Maxim.
