Born in Gravesend, England, on 2 February 1986, Gemma has a healthy dose of British reserve when it comes to her personal attributes. "When I got the Bond film Quantum Of Solace, there was this big hoo-ha about me not being hot enough. I have to say I agree - I don't think I'm in that realm," she says.
We certainly have to disagree. Readers of Empire Magazine did likewise when awarding Gemma its Best Newcomer Award in 2009. Though classically trained at RADA, she is the daughter of working class parents and won a grant to study there. She beat Sienna Miller to the role of Kelly Jones in St. Trinian's, her film debut in 2007.
