Daughter of European Jewish parents, a psychoanalyst and a famous inventor, who fled to London before WWII, Rachel was educated at a prestigious public school before going on to study English at Cambridge University. She formed her own acting company there and won awards for both acting and writing. She won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in the Constant Gardner. In her personal life, Rachel is now married to fellow Brit and James Bond star Daniel Craig.
