Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on 24 July 1982 but raised in New Zealand after her family moved when she was 4, Anna Paquin might have been one of those child stars who had a meteoric rise, only to disappear without trace soon after. Her first role as a kid in the 1993 movie The Piano earned her an Oscar before puberty, after all.
