Born at Leiderdorp, Netherlands, on 5 September 1976, multilingual star of the HBO hit series Game Of Thrones, Carice first made headlines in her native Holland as far back as 1999 when she won the lead in the movie Suzy Q. Her international career took off in 2006 after she starred in the wartime movie Black Books. Tom Cruise asked for her to star as his wife in second world war drama Valkyrie after seeing the movie. She continues to work both in Europe and Hollywood.
