Emmanuelle was born in French beach resort Saint-Tropez on 14 August 1963. She has made Hollywood movies too, but her French ones have proven the most iconic. La Belle Noiseuse, where she played a nude artist's model, is her biggest success. In 2003, she delivered the biggest ever selling issue of Elle magazine when, at the age of 40, she appeared naked on the cover.
