Born in Rheinberg, Germany, on 25 August 1970, Claudia was discovered in 1987 as a takk, gangly 17-year-old by a talent scout. She would go on to become the highest paid model in the world through much of the 1980s and 90s.
Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld chose her to be the face of his famous chanel line and a global campaign for Guess jeans launched her to supermodel status. She could charge $50,000 a day at the height of her modelling career. The face of countless ad campaigns, she's since branched out in to acting and television presenting.
