In the 1970s many had curvaceous Laura Antonelli down to become the next Italian bombshell, following on from the likes of Sophia Loren and Gina Lollobrigida, to take the world by storm. For mainstream cinema audiences, Laura's career never quite reached those dizzy heights. But she would become the goddess of the Italian sex farce. She played serious roles too, of course, picking up a Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists Award for her 1973 breakthrough role in Malizia. There were other critically acclaimed roles in the likes of Luchino Visconti's last film, The Innocent, and Passione d'Amore.

She was born in the town of Pola in Italy on 28 November 1941. The town is now part of Croatia, and renamed Pula. Her family moved around a lot - Genoa and Venice - before finally settling in Naples. Laura was a talented gymnast and worked as a secondary school gym teacher in Rome before she got a break in modelling, then eventually acting. In all, curvy 34C-23-35 bombshell Laura appeared in 45 films between 1965 and 1991. She was as much a favourite with the gossip magazines for an 8-year relationship with legendary French actor Jean-Paul Belmondo as her tittilating acting career. Laura tragically died of a heart attack in June 2015, but for fans of classic Italian sex romps her memory will live forever.
