She was spotted at a tennis clinic in Moscow at aged 6 by Martin Navratilova and brought to Nick Bollettieri famous Tennis Academy in Florida. She's been world number 1 on five different occasions and she's only the sixth women player in open history complete the career Grand Slam in singles.
