She was born Britt-Marie Eklund in Stockholm, Sweden, on 6 October 1942. As a kid, Britt describes herself as being fat and ugly. But she blossomed in her teens, getting spotted by a talent agent while with a theatre company, who sent her to London to audition for movies. She took many bit parts until her breakthough as a burlesque dancer in The Night They Raided Minsky's.
She did a string of movies in Hollywood, Italy and Britain before she was cast as the lead Bond Girl, Mary Goodnight, in the 1974 movie The Man With The Golden Gun. She continued to land roles through the 1980s in movies like Moon In Scorpio and Scandal. She has made regular television and theatre appearances in to her seventies. Almost as famous as her marriage to Peter Sellers was a two-year relationship with rock star Rod Stewart. Charlize Theron played her in the 2004 movie The Life And Death Of Peter Sellers.
