Mila was born as Milena Markovna Kunis in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, on 14 August 1983. She immigrated with her family to America at age 7, eventually settling in Los Angeles. "I didn't understand the culture. I didn't understand the people. I didn't understand the language," Kunis has said about first arriving in the US. She still frequently speaks Russian with her parents.
They enrolled Mila in a children's acting program at the Beverly Hills Studio to help her meet other kids. This soon saw her land work in several commercials and some TV guest roles. Mila's big break happened at age 14 when she landed the role of Jackie Burkhart in the Fox sitcom That '70s Show. The long-running role led her to be cast as the voice of Meg Griffin in the hit cartoon comedy Family Guy.
In her private life, Mila dated fellow child actor and Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin for eight years after working together on American Psycho II. In 2012, she began a relationship with actor Ashton Kutcher, her longtime co-star from That '70s Show. They married in 2015.
