She was born Mary Cathleen Collins in Long Beach, California, on 20 November 1956. Her husband, the actor turned director John Derek, who was 30 years her senior, fell in love with Bo when she was just 16 and in high school. Leaving his wife, actress Linda Evans, he took Bo to live in Germany to avoid Californian statutory rape laws because of her young age. They only returned when Bo was 20 and wed soon after, a marriage which would last 22 years, til John's death in 1998. He was responsible for making many of the movies Bo starred in after 10. Many like Tarzan, The Ape Man and Bolero earned her Golden Raspberry nominations for worst actress, but their tittilating subject matter and Bo's awesome body often made them box office successes. In recent years, Bo has worked more in television, appearing in a wide variety of shows, but most notably the telenovela series Fashion House, seeing her appear in 40 of its 65 episodes.
